Corrupt files

It happens to everyone from time to time. A file you’ve been working on, sometimes for weeks, shows an error message. Suddenly the file turns out to be damaged, “corrupted.” It’s always inconvenient and extremely frustrating. Avoid lost work, follow these tips:

  • It almost seems like an open door, but take regular backups. Keep backups in the cloud, on a USB drive, or on an external hard drive.
  • Are you working with shared folders? By all means, avoid working with multiple people in the same document. You can do this by saving documents from, say, Google Drive or OneDrive to your desktop first and then opening and editing this copy in SprintPlus. This way you avoid having different students making and saving changes to the same document or having synchronization issues. In fact, this can cause a particular document to become corrupted.

Did the file become corrupt anyway? Be sure to check if you have a recent version of the file, then you can continue working from there.
